It is the second oldest gastronomic festival in Galicia, dating back to its origins in 1959.
Since then, it has been held annually and uninterruptedly every last weekend of August. The different activities of the party take place inside the royal stone fortress, an incomparable setting in which to enjoy its famous wines.
During the three days of celebration of the party, it is possible to taste this exquisite product accompanied by the rich local gastronomy. At the same time, during the holidays, exhibitions, performances and concerts take place that liven up these food and wine days.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to taste the “Condado do Tea” white wine, a wine from the sub-area and protected by the quality controls of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. A unique wine, the result of the perfect combination of different indigenous grape varieties and praised by masters of Galician gastronomy such as the renowned Galician writer Álvaro Cunqueiro in his book “A cociña galega”.
Likewise, in each edition since 2000, a group of experts choose the “Delicious Wines of the Year”, a recognition of the best wines of the Condado do Tea region and the good work of the winegrowers.
In 2016, the Condado do Tea Wine Party was declared a “Party of Tourist Interest in Galicia”.
