Fillaboa is a historic pazo whose estate has remained indivisible over the centuries, being one of the largest, most beautiful and oldest estates in Galicia and the only one that, due to its special characteristics, belongs to the Asociación Grandes Pagos de España. Behind the 1,600 meter thick stone wall that protects the property, in addition to the vineyards, the winery and a spectacular rebuilt manor house are hidden. It is located in Salvaterra de Miño, on the border with Portugal next to the Tea and Miño rivers and belongs to Masaveu Bodegas since 2000. A landscape of stunning beauty in the DO Rías Baixas and full of history where the land is cultivated in harmony with nature.

50 hectares of Albariño grape vineyards planted on undulating slopes make up the Fillaboa estate, which comprises a total of 74 hectares spread over 12 different estates. The rich soils and the Atlantic climate, with mild temperatures due to its proximity to the sea, make Fillaboa a privileged place for growing the native grape, the Albariño variety.

Good daughter

Legend has it that in the origins of the Fillaboa estate, dating back to the 19th century, the beautiful daughter of a count, humiliated by her sisters because of the envy they felt, became the heir to the best lands available to the father of she. Her good work received the well-deserved recognition, admiration, love and tenderness of a just father, hence the name of the Estate, Fillaboa, in Galician; Good daughter, in Spanish.
