Archaeological remains were found in the “Monte de los Castros”, on the slope known as “Cerrado de Alonso”, where various material from the Castilian and Galician-Roman times is found. On the southern slope there is a possible Roman villa in which the presence of a “hypocaust” or dependency with an air conditioning system stands out, which indicates the importance of Lourido during the ancient age.
In this enclave there are several legends related to the Moors and their wealth that are protected by enchantments.
A medieval sarcophagus was recovered at Lourido.
