Important figures from the history of the County settled on the land of this parish, such as the descendants of Vasco Ozores, lord of Teáns, and the Barbeito and Padrón. King Fernando IV in 1297 gave Vasco Ozores an extensive jurisdiction, later divided between the Teáns and Corzáns jurisdictions.
Another Vasco Ozores stood out in the defense of the town of Salvaterra during the attacks that the town suffered in the 14th century by the Portuguese.
A member of the Barbeito y Padrón family, Juan and his wife Doña Inés Suárez de Puga established the Link of the Casa de Piñeiro. One of the couple's sons, Bartolomé, was a schoolboy of San Clemente in Santiago, Inquisitor of the Holy Office in the same city in the year 1680 and later in Pontevedra, Murcia, Valladolid and Madrid. In 1688 he founded a nursing home for poor family clergy and a school. Currently the emblazoned entrance of the property known as Portalón de la Inquisición, recently restored, is preserved.
